And the innagural Hemisphere Challenge goes to the Northern Hemisphere! Team 1, the Southern Hemisphere team accumulated 35.52% of the votes, while the victors, Team 2 rounded that out with 63.48%. Aside from pure speculation, the identities of the teams—riders and photographers alike, have been kept hidden through the entire, ten day run of the contest. In doing so the riding and the photos have no biases attached to them, hemispherical or otherwise; and can be taken at face value alone. Now that the Challenge is finished, the time has come to reveal the players …

Sure, some states give away bumper stickers or road maps, but Montana is giving away an entire ski mountain complete with a daily buffet of all the powder you can eat. One lucky winner and five friends will spend two days carving up the nicely tilted terrain at Showdown Mountain in Montana’s Lewis & Clark National Forest. And the kicker – the winner and his or her posse will have it all to themselves. After arriving at the mountain, skis and snowboards in hand, the gate will close and the winner won’t have to share with anyone.
In addition to a private powder sanctuary and an all expenses paid trip, the winner will also have a gourmet chef at their beck and call as well as a new, shred-ready clothing system compliments of The North Face.
Montana receives over thirty feet of billowy, cold smoke snow annually. Home to sixteen ski areas, thousands of kilometers of cross-country skiing trails, ice climbing, hot springing and a slew of other winter activities, Montana is a mecca for snow lovers.

Spy is proud to announce Louie Vito as the newest member to one of most influential and respected professional snowboard teams in the game. At only 18, this Bellefontaine, Ohio native has already made an impact on the shred world, but don’t worry, he promises that this is just the beginning. A graduate of the infamous Stratton Mountain School in Vermont, Louie is a pipe slayer at heart, but his snowboard skills don’t end there. This month, Louie’s incredible wealth of talent and aggressive style earned him a 1st place finish at the Garnier Fructose Halfpipe Contest in Australia, beating two-time Olympic Medalist Danny Kass in the process. Louie was recently named to the US Pro team. He qualified first for the Superpipe finals at last year’s Winter X Ten but just missed the medals after a slight fall in his final run. He is hungry for redemption and can’t wait to drop in at Winter X Eleven!

StepChild Snowboards has taken up the cause along with Virgin Billionaire Richard Branson to fight Global Warming. Branson announced today that he would be pledging 3 Billion Dollars to help fight the controversial issue. “While we don’t have 3 Billion Dollars to contribute, we can do our part.” Remarked the Intern Dept. at StepChild. “We have been collecting beer cans and recycling them, each can gets us 5 Cents closer to stopping global warming.”
StepChild also issued a challange to all snowboard brands to do their part. “Without snow, we can’t snowboard, it’s just that simple.” Remarked StepChild’s Environmental task force leader and head intern. “I mean it would be cool to shred in Quebec without the -30 degree temps but come on.”
StepChild has long been focused on environmental issues. “While we make our boards with renewable and non-renewable resources, petroleum based products and probably do more damage to the environment just by making the boards we figure we should at least give a little bit back.” Stated the Intern Dept. “Actually we are surprised that the larger snowboard brands and corperations that actually make a profit don’t do more. You would think that the threat of snow melting would be a concern …”
